Highlights from my life and the Brave Self Care Instagram feed...

I had a bunch of reasons why I "couldn't" join Instagram. My phone was too crappy, I was too old, it wouldn't look as good as other people's feeds. . Then I thought about how I wanted to reach women who were excited to be coached. I learned about the ways people can authentically gather around a hashtag or a topic. And I took one picture (the first one in my feed) and thought, "I could Instagram that." . One year ago I had hardly any idea I would be fully certified as a life coach, trained to start a small business, or have already coached over a dozen women in refining and moving toward their goals. . So thankful for my family, coaching school, supportive church (and teacher @jpkang), internship client @hiratatata, friend-turned-client-turned-social-media-advisor @katrinakubo and many many others for walking with me and encouraging me toward God's call for me in this season. . Is there anything you've decided you "can't" do? Is it really true? . Here's to discovering there's much more you can do than you realized in the new year! . . #selfcare #lifecoaching #ladyboss #solopreneur #smallbusiness #2016bestnine

Babysat my neighbor's 2 month old today. I had my son with me and worried beforehand that I'd have a crying baby on one arm and pouty preschooler on the other. . Thankfully, baby slept almost the whole time and took his bottle like a champ. I'd forgotten what it's like to have that tiny of a person strapped on to your body for hours at a time, to hear their little breathing noises, to see the funny faces they make as they wake up, blinking. . For as sweet as it was, I also remembered the helplessness of sleep deprivation, the endless-seeming rounds of nursing complications, the feeling of always needing to get cleaned from spit up, breast milk, and diaper leaks. (TMI? Not for this crowd, right? □) . Mamas in this early stage, I salute you! You do so much, and you should be proud. It may not be glamorous. It may be repetitive. But your work as a mom is so very valuable, and seen by God. . Tag a mama in the trenches of babyhood and give her a little love. We see you, mama! Keep up the good work. . . #momlife #babystage #honestmotherhood #babymamasunite #babiesofinstagram #mamahood

Coming into the new year thinking about the word "gently". What if I could have a gentle start to my business? Treat myself gently as I learn? Connect with others about coaching in a gentle, not expectation-laden way? . What word is resonating for you in 2017?? . . #lifecoaching #selfcare #solopreneur #ladyboss #entrpreneur #begentle #goeasy #newyearnewgoals
