With some new faces here (hello!), I thought it might be a nice time for a little introduction - including a *very* convincing reason not to overlook your recycling. (This will make sense later, I promise.) My familyThat's Greg, 5 days older than me, great at fixing things, and with 1000 times the spatial intelligence than I have. (Ask me how many times I've scraped the right hand side of a car. 😬) Our kids are 12 (into coding animations on Scratch), 8 (made us a giant zoo painting for Christmas), and 2 (our surprise baby). I grew up with a younger sister and a gaggle of girl cousins, and never ONCE imagined being the mother of boys. Recycling nerdGrowing up in eco-conscious Seattle, I formed my own chapter of Kids for Saving Earth and read books on worm bins. I can clearly remember throwing my first piece of paper in the trash. (I was in college). As you can see from the Instagram post above, I was secretly thrilled that our plastic film (bag) use was so low until I learned a crucial piece of information. Takeaway: checking in on your recycling can keep you humble (and give you a chuckle, too). Parents are my jamI coach parents with nonstop responsibilities who just need a break.
