I turned 39 last week...but that didn't prevent me from shamelessly making infotainment videos for you. Let me back up. 😆 When I became a life coach, I had no idea how much there was to it besides sitting down with moms and having profound conversations to help them become the people they wanted to be. There's marketing. And website-making. And newsletter-writing. And public speaking. And networking. And talking about yourself. And looking for partnerships to expand the circle of people who know about you. Anyway - when Instagram rolled out a new video format called Reels (its version of TikTok), I kept hearing what a great way it was for small business owners to get the word out about their businesses. Plus, they can be super entertaining and silly. So I tried making some Reels. And actually really enjoyed it. Then one of them hit over 1,500 views and I just...froze. I had ideas, sure, but kept overthinking them. I wanted the perfect song, the perfect video clips, the perfect lighting, the perfect editing. I was putting so much pressure on the next video to be 'popular' that I just stopped making them. Luckily, I know myself well enough that I was able to observe what was going on. I issued myself a challenge: Make a Reel a day for a week. As a life coach, I knew that consistency and frequency would help me get over myself and get unstuck! So, I did it! I skipped my birthday but made 6 new Reels in a week. I learned a lot and wanted to share some of the lessons with you.
If you're curious, you can see all the Reels videos I've made here: Is there anything you've been avoiding because you've built it up in your mind as needing to be a certain way? Or maybe you're leaning into silliness and play, even though it doesn't come naturally? I would LOVE to hear what's resonating for you Hit 'Comments' below and let me know - I'd love to hear! To becoming lifelong learners,
